Chanel Emprise

Since I got the name of this blog from this pretty nail polish, I feel indebted to make my first post about it.  Emprise (569) is a limited edition nail polish form Chanel's Spring 2013 Collection PRINTEMPS PRÉCIEUX DE CHANEL.

Here is the picture from the Chanel website:

Since I really love light colored nail polishes, especially those that are almost nude or pinkish, I took the plunge and bought my first nail polish from Chanel.  I'm not so sure if I like the color when I saw some swatches online, but since it looks so feminine in the model's fingers I just really need to have it.

I've been dreaming of getting something from the Holiday 2012 collection but I wasn't able to get anything.  I almost bought Rouge Allure Velvet in L'Impatiente but it's just so difficult to use.  Luckily I stopped by Rustan's that day to see if the Spring 2013 collection has already arrived and it's there.  I asked for a bottle without even trying it on.  I just know that I want to buy something from the Spring 2013 collection.  I called up a friend (Ice) who's been eyeing the Poudre Signée De Chanel if I should get her that illuminating powder and when she learned that there's only 10 in stock, she just said yes knowing that it is also a limited edition item.  You can pay in 3 monthly installments when your purchase reach Php5,000 from Rustan's.  Hence I need her to buy the Poudre Signée De Chanel! ;p

On my fingers it looks like this:

It leans more on the peach shade rather than pink.  It's a fresh deviation form the usual pinks that I use.  In the bottle it has a metallic shimmer to it but when applied to the nails, it's not so visible unless you look closely and you're under bright lighting.

This is probably a better picture.  However, since I still don't feel the need to get a better camera or that my picture taking skiils is yet to be honed, the shimmer can't be seen in this picture.

I'm not really good in applying nail polishes especially on my right hand so I thought that I'm just probably applying it wrong.  This, afterall, is my first nail polish from Chanel.  It took me three coats to get that color.  I don't know if it's because I have applied it too thickly, but I find it very hard to remove.  I have to soak up the cotton pad in nail polish remover to make it work.  This polish does not chip easily.

I'm very abusive with my hands hence the polish doesn't seem to cover the rims anymore.  After a few days it lost its luster so applied a topcoat.  I've worn it for more than a week without a basecoat and it didn't turn my nails yellow.  I can see it from the way my nails grew.  The lower part has remained pinkish unlike the portion on the nails coated previously with China Glaze (202) Innocence.  I still intend to use Innocence until I finish that bottle because I love the color.  I also love to use up all the products I buy unless they are really very unpleasant to use or caused me skin irritations.

Memo Lalibela + Jo Malone Wild Bluebell

I got my sample of  Memo Lalibela . I can’t decide if I really want it, but I bought a Home Diffuser for €55. Crazy as it may sound but it intend to use it on my clothes and see if it can scent me! Perhaps even on my hair. Mixed it with WB and they complemented each other so well.  I sprayed Inle also from Memo at 10am. It is now 5pm and I can still smell it on my skin. Marfa lasted just as long but I enjoyed the aquatic notes in getting from Inle more. Inle is one I’ll consider getting in the future but I wont be getting Marfa.

Perfume Inventory Check-in

I have just counted how many perfumes I have and at some point I just need to stop accumulating and start enjoying them. I’ll keep writing here and record my perfume experience in the coming days.  I have 3 bottles I want to empty: Jo Malone Wild Bluebell - surprisingly long lasting. I’ve had this as early as 2014.  A memory I recall is using this sometime in  autumn in New York. I was with Christian and Julie at Times Square. Back then I have decided that this will be my wedding day perfume but much has changed since then. Will finish this but probably wont repurchase.  Penhaligon’s Artemesia - I got this because Christy just loves it. She loves vanilla smelling perfumes and I cant recall having a vanilla perfume back then. Perhaps Shalimar? But it is not the perfume you’ll think when you crave for a vanilla perfume. It’s okay. I like wearing this to sleep. Probably not a crowd pleaser if I wear it outside here in the Philippines.  Elizabeth Arden Lotus Green ...

Acqua Di Gio - Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani - Acqua Di Gio 2nd year high school (1998) to 1st year college (2002) From Fragrantica : This fragrance was inspired by Giorgio Armani ’s’ holiday spent on the isle of Pantelleria. The scent of lazy summer days and freedom. Acqua di Gio achieved its high-quality status by perfectly harmonizing aquatic notes with sweet and fruity notes of muscat grapes from Pantelleria along with blending them successfully with the freshness of pineapple and citrus notes. Watermelon blends nicely with the notes of freesia, hyacinth and ylang-ylang. The warm, woody and musky base note remind of the Mediterranean warm temperament. This fragrance was created in 1995. The nose behind this fragrance is Alberto Morillas .   Groups: Floral Fruity   Main Accords:  Floral     White Floral     Fresh     Green     Woody     My Thoughts Back in high school, I really love the pe...
